Spring Newsletter 2008

Dear Well Wisher
See our Newsletter in full here.
Welcome to the Spring edition of the ENCOMPASS newsletter! We have had an incredibly busy few months – running programs, fundraising and raising the profile of ENCOMPASS both here and abroad. We hope that you are able to take a few moments to read about some of the exciting news from the world of ENCOMPASS!
In October we ran our first programme which focused exclusively on issues of cross cultural understanding in the UK. The programme was called Diversity in London and was run with the generous support of the City Bridge Trust and brought together 13 young people from across London.
Then in December we ran our Sixth Journey of Understanding. This programme, which was part funded by the Hedley Foundation, brought together 22 young people from the UK, the US, Israel, the Palestinian Territories and Indonesia.
In May ENCOMPASS welcomed a new member of staff. Alison Criddle joined the team as the new Fundraising Manager and we all wish her a great deal of success in that most difficult of posts! The appointment was a huge relief for everyone, not least Josh who had taken to talking to the furnit ure in the period before her appointment! There will be new faces appearing in the ENCOMPASS office in the New Year, but more of that in due course!
If there was one disappointment in the last few months, it was the weather. In particular the weather on Sunday 19th August – the day of the rain affected Cricket Extravaganza! What should have been a day of high octane-cricketing action became an opportunity to catch up on ENCOMPASS activity in the shelter of a local public house – thanks to everyone who came along!
Finally, a big thank you to all the people who have supported the ENCOMPASS office over the last few months. Andrea Miles for providing her expert experience on all areas of fundraising. And all the other Trustees for giving generously with their time.
