The Encompass Trust at the South Westminster Festival

On Saturday, July 1st, the Encompass Trust joined with other non-profit organisations and community groups at the South Westminster Festival in Pimlico. Encompass operated a stall complete with prize contests, photo booths and an auction. The festival was a major success for Encompass and for all that attended.

Contestants in the prize contest were challenged to use their existing cultural stereotypes to match the comments of past Encompass Adventure program participants with their pictures and nationalities. Many played but only very few were able to match the comments correctly, reaffirming Encompass’ core belief that cultural stereotypes can be easily broken down with even the slightest amount of introspection.

Also popular at the Encompass stall was the photo booth which prominently displayed our marquee slogan, “I believe in tolerance”. People of all ages were eager to participate and find out more about our organisation.

We would like to thank Puma for their donation in kind to our auction, a cap signed by five England players, including Peter Crouch and James Beattie, and also an Argentinean Gabriel Heinz. Additionally, our patron Alex King provided us with a signed 2003 World Champion England rugby shirt, which was signed by the entire England team. These items will be available for bidding on our EBay auction through July 17th.

There will be more opportunities to find us participating in local events so check back to the Encompass website for more news about future events such as the South Westminster Festival.
