2006 has been an exciting year for Encompass so far. We have run our seventh program – the second Journey of Understanding, as well as visting our partners in the Middle East.

Louise Ware and Josh Casss continue to grow successfully into their roles at Encompass since Jun Hirst took a step back from the day-to-day running of the charity. The Encompass website continues to be developed by Webmaster, Gus MacKirdy. New content and an exciting and clear new layout have been added. Perhaps, when you have finished reading the newsletter, you can spend a few minutes exploring the site.

Plans are also being made for the rest of 2006. In July we will be running our third Journey of Understanding- project eight. We will also be running our now annual fundraiser- The Big Splash Dragon Boat Regatta, this year being held at the Docklands Watersports Centre. Plans are also underway for a unique event being run in September. This will bring together Israelis and Palestinians in an event intended to explore the roots of that particulart conflict.

Encompass has recently celebrated its third birthday–and it is you who has made it possible for Encompass to empower young people from all over the world to tackle intolerance and cultural misunderstandings. We thank you for your generous funding, time, ideas, practical help and your special skills and hope that your enthusiasm will extend to signing up a team for a day of fundraising by racing Dragon Boats in the River Thames this July!
Hope to see you at the races!
