Dear Well Wisher

Welcome to the Winter and Spring edition of the ENCOMPASS Trust newsletter
ENCOMPASS had a tremendous year in 2004 with two Voyages of Understandingreaching out to 100 young Indonesians, British and for the first time, Israelis, Palestinians and Americans. By placing the voyagers in challenging and exciting environments and creating a neutral platform for dialogue, strangers from different worldshave reached out and become friends, even enemies have become friends –and now, back home they are continuing the work of ENCOMPASS through their own Peace Projects.
Now that the year 2005 is racing towards spring, we are crackingon with new programmes and partnerships. In the summer, the first land based reconciliation programme is set to take place in the UK with Outward Bound. The charity has also been chosen by Giving Nation –an organisation sponsored by the government to promote the culture of giving to the youth of Britain. Giving Nation chose ENCOMPASS as they felt the organisation is a good example of how and why charities are set up and also, why the world needs charities like ENCOMPASS to exist.
ENCOMPASS is now approaching its third year of operation –and it is you who hasmade it possible for ENCOMPASS to empower young people from all over the world to tackle the grassroots of terrorism. We thank you for your generous funding, time, ideas, practical help and your special skills and hope that your enthusiasm will extend to signing up a team for a day of fundraising by racing Dragon Boats in the River Thames this July –more information is available further on in the newsletter!
Hope to see you at the races!
Best wishes,
Jun Hirst Director
