Making a splash for Encompass!

Encompass Programme Manager Erika made a big splash in the Thames on Saturday 3rd July, swimming 1 mile in the “world’s cleanest” river to raise money for Encompass.
5000 swimmers turned up on the day to take part in the British Gas Great London Swim 2010, and Erika came 378th overall with a time of 28 minutes and 39 seconds.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored Erika to take up this formidable challenge, and helped to raise a grand total of £880 of much-needed funds for Encompass.

Erika says: “Thanks to everyone for all your support! It was great having so many people there on the day to cheer me on, including Encompass staff from as far afield as Palestine, Israel and Serbia! I’m now looking forward to doing it again next year, but this time I’m hoping to get some of the other Encompass staff, young people and supporters in the water with me!”
If you would like to join Erika in swimming a mile in the Thames next summer to raise money for Encompass, or you have an idea for a different kind of sponsored event, please contact our Fundraising Manager Steve at steve@encompasstrust.org

The possibilities are endless! Running, cycling, bungee jumping, trekking, sponsored silence, skydiving, cake sale, talent show…
Thank you!
