Image theatre at Westminster School!

On 25th June 2010 Encompass transformed Westminster School’s stage into an Encompass Image Theatre workshop, running 2 sessions on the theme of exploring and challenging young people’s stereotypes. Image Theatre is an method of inquiry in which people express their thoughts, feelings and experiences physically and visually. Encompass ran a discussion with a total of 60 students, who had just recently completed their GCSEs, on the images produced. The response was great!
The aim of the workshop was to dislodge the students’ stereotypes through addressing various issues they face growing up in the UK.
James Hooper, Head of Year, said…
“I thought I’d write to thank you wholeheartedly for your fantastic work at Westminster School on the afternoon of Friday 25th June. I’ve subsequently received considerable positive feedback about your sessions, both directly from the pupils themselves and also indirectly (via other teachers). I was highly impressed myself with the way you thoroughly engaged the boys and made them think, in a relaxed, fun, interactive and supportive manner, even more so as the groups you worked with were larger in size than your ideal…”
Thank you to Westminster School. We look forward to working with you in the near future!
