Encompass Recruitment Weekend

The weekend of 18th November saw the selection weekend for Encompass’ forthcoming Westminster Reconciliation Project.

Twenty young people from Westminster travelled down to Avon Tyrell in the New Forest where the selection weekend was run. The weekend consisted of a range of physical activities as well as discussion based workshops. The highlight of the weekend was a UN-style debate involving issues as different as whaling and North Korea’s nuclear capability!

The weekend had a serious point however, it was to select the eight British participants for the program in February 2007. Everyone involved with the weekend was impressed by the way that the participants involved themselves in the activities, the result was that the decision about who would go forward was not an easy one.

Encompass would like to thank the staff of the Metropolitan Police and Westminster Council who gave up their weekend to help run the event. Without their enthusiasm for the project it would simply never have happened.
